Discussion led by the curators every evening
Put on your slippers and take in two artistic offerings during an eclectic and lively evening! Following three weeks of exploratory research in our very own underground, Espace Vert, the artists offer you the fruits of their experiments in the form of a public presentation. Over a drink, the curators provide a space for a friendly discussion where the public’s experiences and thoughts come together to create a collective meaning. With this presentation model, Tangente opens the doors of its laboratory to cultivate a privileged and intimate relationship between artists and the audience.

Marcus Merasty
Drawing inspiration from stories of human-animal transformation, Marcus passes on his work to three performers using somatic explorations, soundscapes and interaction with objects, including moose hides.
Marcus Merasty (he/they) is a Nēhithaw/Cree performer, choreographer and multidisciplinary artist with ancestral roots in Wapâwikoscikanihk/Pelican Narrows, in northern Saskatchewan. The Cree people of northern Saskatchewan are also known as Assin’skowitiniwak, which translates to “People of the rocky area”. Their work integrates traditional and contemporary Indigenous dance forms, ideologies, and practices with choreography, visual imagery, storytelling, poetry, film, and object-based performance. Rooted in decolonial approaches, territory-based research, and the exploration of somatic movement and relationships with objects, their practice investigates histories, lived experiences and narratives that shape both personal and collective memory. Their most recent work, The Golden Rez Dog, premiered in 2026.
With the support of Canada Council for the Arts
Marcus’s practice is rooted in the intertwining of traditional and contemporary Indigenous dance forms, ideologies, and practices. His multidisciplinary approach combines choreography with visual imagery, storytelling, poetry, film, and object-based performance. Decolonial practices and land-based research inform his process, while somatic movement exploration remains central to his artistic expression.
Noel Transcendance Vezina
Alone, practising movement sequences over and over again, almost obsessively. Transforming them into something personal and intimate. Playing with repetition and duration, endurance and authenticity, by bringing line dancing into the realm of contemporary dance.
Noel Transcendance Vezina is a queer, interdisciplinary, dance and movement artist based in Montréal (Tiohtiá:ke/Mooniyang). Largely community-taught, their process is highly intuitive and organic. Noel strives to be radically soft, honest, and vulnerable. They value not knowing and never perfecting. To be kind and loving is essential. Approaching performance as a tool to connect deeply to themselves and to others, their work often takes on ephemeral and intimate forms. Alongside their performance projects, Noel organizes Montréal SPURS nights, a queer line dancing community that has been gathering since 2023. Noel has received support from the Canada Council for the Arts in research and creation, and has been awarded residencies from Conseil des arts de Montréal, CCOV, Circuit-Est, Studio 303, and MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels).
