Our national and international networks
Tangente has developed collaborations and partnerships across Canada, North and South America, Europe and Asia. More than fifty choreographers and companies from here and abroad have benefited from choreographic exchanges and tours.
At the national level, Tangente cofounded the CanDanse network for dance presenters, a forum for discussion and tour planning that now counts fourty members across the country.
At the international level, Tangente has now turned its attention to the Middle East, where dance is “dangerous”, even prohibited, and always political. Interstices, a three-year partnership with the Israeli organization c.a.t.a.m.o.n, has been set up to foster choreographic exchanges between Jerusalem and Montréal. We have also initiated relationships with various Arab world creators and curators during the last Beirut International Platform of Dance. In this spirit, we co-presented newly immigrated Iranian choreographer Nasim Lootij as part of the Montréal festival Altérité, pas à pas!, organized by Nord Sud Arts et Cultures.
