Discussion with the artists on May 25

The OFFTA is a festival dedicated to emerging and avant-garde creation in the live arts. Created on the fringes of the Festival TransAmériques (FTA), the OFFTA showcases creators whose singular and committed approaches lay the groundwork for new artistic currents. The festival aims to decategorize contemporary artistic practices and their respective audiences. It presents and produces events that challenge established norms and question modes of representation, fostering collaboration and collective experiences.

Indefinable Folks

Lotion for Tomorrow

Part performance, part gathering, this experience weaves together singing, dancing and dreaming, while inviting the audience to share with each other through a playful practice. By opening up a space to feel and act together, it offers a reflection on the possibility of a shared experience, asking “What might happen if we were to pause, listen, and allow ourselves to be affected by each other’s movements?”

Thank you to earlier Indefinable Folks collaborators Angie Cheng, Will Ellis, Ame Henderson, Karine Gauthier, François Lalumière, Kate Nankervis, Andrew Tay, and Anandam Collective Space for hosting us during Toronto rehearsals

Indefinable Folks work broadly in experimental dance within performance, production and collaborative dance-making contexts. Since being founded in 2018, the collective has continued developing artistic strategies that open pathways toward decolonization, empathy, and care. Driven by a quest for meaning and a desire to build shared worlds, the collective invites audiences to take an active role in their ongoing and ever-evolving creative process.
