Our national and international network

Tangente has developed collaborations and partnerships across Canada, North and South America, Europe and Asia. More than fifty choreographers and companies from here and abroad have benefited from choreographic exchanges and tours.

At the national level, Tangente cofounded the CanDanse network for dance presenters, with fourty members across the country, a forum for discussion and tour planning.

At the international level, Tangente has now turned its attention to the Middle East, where dance is regarded as “dangerous”, even prohibited, and is always political. A three-year partnership Interstices, with the Israeli organization c.a.t.a.m.o.n, has been set up to foster choreographic exchanges between Jerusalem and Montreal. We have also initiated relationships with various Arab world creators and curators during the last Beirut International Platform of Dance. In this spirit, we will be co-presenting newly immigrated Iranian choreographer Nasim Lootij, as part of the Montreal festival Altérité, pas à pas!, organized by Nord/Sud Arts et Cultures.
