Unveiling Our Winter Season!
As we complete our first full season in our new downtown home, the ÉDIFICE WILDER – Espace danse, we have begun to uncover its potential for choreographers, dancers, and spectators. The various nooks and crannies of the building are already lively meeting places for people from various sectors of the community. We’ve literally filled every allotted time slot in the Espace Françoise Sullivan and Espace Dena Davida with performances, hybrid events, research projects, school and community workshops, symposiums, technical and creative residencies.
Now that the dust has settled in and around the Wilder, its remarkable form has become visible. The audacious architectural design is an eclectic assemblage of motifs and materials, the very embodiment of Tangente’s pluralist artistic vision and commitment to innovation. As we become building managers the challenge intensifies: how to maintain our initial idealism and core values so that these state-of the art spaces may advance the future of contemporary dance?
We have doubled down on experimentation and open-ended dance. We continue to present a large number of new and local artists. We continue to believe in the power of contemporary artistic practice to cultivate critical ideas about culture, politics, and society.
